Who does this apply to?
People who do not have health insurance or who choose not to use their insurance to pay for services.
Good Faith Estimate
Simply Better Counseling, LLC.
Effective Date: September 3rd, 2026
Your Right to Receive a Good Faith Estimate
If you do not have health insurance, or if you choose not to use your health insurance to pay for services, you have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate explaining the expected cost of your care before services are provided.
Â
A Good Faith Estimate is not a bill. It is an estimate of the charges that are reasonably expected for the services you are scheduling or requesting.
When You Can Receive an Estimate
You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate when you request one or when you schedule services far enough in advance.
Â
If you schedule an appointment:
Â
-
3–9 business days in advance: the estimate should generally be provided within 1 business day after scheduling.
-
10 or more business days in advance: the estimate should generally be provided within 3 business days after scheduling.
-
You may also request an estimate before scheduling services, in which case it should generally be provided within 3 business days of your request.
Â
If an appointment is scheduled fewer than three business days in advance, the federal Good Faith Estimate timing requirement generally does not apply.
What Your Estimate Will Include
Your Good Faith Estimate will include the expected charges for services that are reasonably anticipated to be provided by Simply Better Counseling.
Â
Because counseling is often ongoing and the length or frequency of treatment may change over time, an estimate may reflect an expected treatment period rather than guarantee the total cost of care.
Â
You may request an updated estimate if your treatment plan, session frequency, or anticipated services change.
If Your Bill Is Higher Than Your Estimate
Keep a copy of your Good Faith Estimate so you can compare it with your bills.
Â
If the amount billed by a provider is at least $400 more than the amount listed on that provider’s Good Faith Estimate, you may be eligible to use the federal patient-provider dispute resolution process.
